Danville Real Estate
Danville, California (CA)

Known as the “Heart of the San Ramon Valley,” Danville is located near Mount Diablo. American Indians first populated the valley, living next to the nearby creeks in the winter and moving to the mountains in the summer. Settlers eventually moved here during the Gold Rush and named the establishment after Dan Inman, an energetic miner.

Owning Danville real estate has some nice advantages. Danville has pleasant weather; sunny, yet temperate. In June, for example, the average temperature is about 68 degrees. The crime rate is low, and the city is moderately-sized. There are many reasons to choose Danville, whether for investment or residential purposes.

Danville Real Estate

Danville, pleasantly sized with approximately 42,000 residents, sits at 368 feet in elevation and is located in Contra Costa County, CA. The nearest large city is Oakland, located about 17 miles away and containing about 400,000 people. Danville is nicely situated for real estate; near the ocean, and near enough for convenience, but not too near, to several larger cities. The economy in Danville is stable and the crime rate is low, but prospective residents and investors should be prepared to pay a hefty price tag for their real estate as a result of these benefits.

Danville Living Standards

Danville residents make, on average, over $100,000 a year, and they need to in order to afford the local real estate. Houses in Danville are worth over $500,000 on average. But the old saying “you get what you pay for” is true when it comes to Danville real estate; although the costs of housing are high, the climate is nice, unemployment and crime rates are very low, and Danville’s population is well-educated.

Danville Employment

If you are in search of Danville real estate, you may also be in search of employment in the area. The most common local employment options include professional industries, science, management, administration, real estate, and manufacturing, which accounts for 11% of all Danville jobs. Just make certain that whatever job you obtain will allow you to afford Danville’s high cost of living; the local real estate is not priced to cater to the financially unstable. Fortunately, the economy and job stability in Danville is good, and the city’s low unemployment rate beats both state and national averages, which means that if you are lucky enough to acquire a job in Danville you can probably count on keeping it.

Danville Weather

It’s already been mentioned that Danville offers nice weather, but perhaps this benefit of the area cannot be stressed enough. Sunshine prevails in Danville, with cloudy days numbering under 100 per year. During January, the coldest month, the average temperature is a moderate 48 degrees. The hottest months are July and August, which average a comfortable 71 degrees. For those who love the outdoors, Danville offers year-round enjoyment, lacking the freezing winters and boiling summers of areas that are further inland.

Danville Community

People who are fortunate enough to possess Danville real estate will enjoy many community benefits, including nearby airports (about 15 miles away), good medical facilities (which include Mt. Diablo Medical Pavilion, San Ramon Regional Medical Center, and John Muir Medical Center), good schools, and high quality colleges nearby (St. Mary’s College of California, California State University-Hayward, and the University of California-Berkeley are all within a 20 mile radius).

Danville is, in general, a very nice location, but one that doesn’t come cheaply. If you have the money, you may want to consider purchasing residential Danville real estate for its beautiful weather, high standard of living, and strong community. As with any seaside city, Danville is also a good place to purchase property for investments, since it is relatively easy to find vacationers who wish to rent such property.
